Marketing and communications writing has given me the chance to apply my storytelling skills to both important and fun campaigns. I love ad writing, because, like lyric writing, you only have a few words to tell a whole story, while creating a press release gives you a chance to highlight important points and players. Here are some examples of some of the campaigns I’ve worked on.
Distracted Driving
In a campaign for the Ad Council, I wrote persuasive text across multiple platforms to reach decision makers and programmers.
Iceland
As a freelance writer for Bulman Communication Group (now Blacksheep Strategy, located in Winnipeg, Canada) I helped create a campaign for Great Canadian Travel Company and Iceland Express.
Humane Society
As the Marketing and Communications Manager at the Winnipeg Humane Society, I oversaw a variety of different initiatives and campaigns to raise awareness, funds and adoption numbers.
Winnipeg Arts Council
The Winnipeg Arts Council is an arms-length, municipal organization that oversees all the public art, cultural planning, and support for artists in the City of Winnipeg. Over the years I created countless press, advertising, and communications materials for a variety of events and projects.
